Zoom is working towards making its video conferencing platform more expansive than ever. Not only is it rolling out OnZoom, an online virtual event marketplace, but it's also introducing third-party app integrations, called Zapps.

OnZoom Is a Marketplace for Paid Events

Zoom has released a beta for OnZoom, a hub for any and all kinds of paid virtual events. In a post on the Zoom Blog, the platform described OnZoom as "a one-of-a-kind online events platform and marketplace."

OnZoom gives paid users a platform to host virtual classes, lectures, concerts, tutoring sessions, comedy shows, and much more.

It also comes with integrated tools that let hosts sell tickets on the platform, as well as promote events on social media. Best of all, it allows organizers to grow their business and services.

OnZoom will let up to 1,000 people attend an event, but this number may be lower depending on the host's subscription tier.

Zapps Allow for Third-Party App Integrations

Zoom also introduced Zapps in a separate announcement on the Zoom Blog. Zapps are a series of apps available within Zoom that are designed to make video calls even more efficient.

Taking advantage of Zapps makes it easy to use collaboration tools during a webinar, video conference, online class, or meeting. Zoom hopes that Zapps will "enable the free flow of information between teams before, during, and after the meeting."

Instead of going back and forth between multiple apps and Zoom, you'll now have access to these online meeting tools right inside Zoom. This means that you'll be able to "streamline permissions, grant document accessibility, and collaborate on screen," using apps within Zoom.

So far, Zoom is partnering with 25 companies to create Zapps for the platform. Some partners include Slack, Asana, Dropbox, Kahoot!, Coursera, and HubSpot. Zapps will be available by the end of 2020, and will be open to developers following the launch date.

Once Zapps are officially released, both free and paid users will have access to them. To find a Zapp, you can simply search for one, and then add it to your Zoom account. From there, you can share a Zapp and even send a Zapp during your video call.

Zoom is making waves in the world of video conferencing. The introduction of OnZoom will surely draw more businesses and users to the platform, as it makes it even easier for organizers to host and promote a range of events.

And the same goes for Zapps---having app integrations available in one click will likely make instructors and work teams prioritize Zoom over all other video calling platforms.
