That's why GitHub now gives you the ability to upload videos across its platform, in issues, pull requests, discussions, and more.

Video Uploads Now Available on GitHub

GitHub has been testing video uploads for a while, having launched the feature in a public beta in December 2020. Now, video uploads are available for everyone.

You can upload MP4 and MOV files in issues, pull requests, discussions, and other places on GitHub.

Video has a variety of benefits on GitHub, especially for teams that work remotely. They can be used to show a bug in action, demonstrate functionality in a pull request, offer imagery and commentary on work-in-progress features, and more.

You can upload video wherever you use GitHub, across desktop and mobile (iOS and Android), from today.

According to the GitHub blog announcing the feature, this is the first step of video integration into the platform. The company is "looking to explore more use cases, like video unfurling from links and video annotations in code".
