Xbox Game Pass is Microsoft's game subscription service that lets users play any game they want, as long as it's included in its library.

Costing just $9.99/month for the PC or Console plans, or $14.99/month for Ultimate, Xbox Game Pass offers excellent value for money. But exactly how much value for money did Xbox Game Pass offer in 2021?

How Valuable Is Xbox Game Pass?

According to The Loadout, Microsoft added more than $6,300 worth of games to the Xbox Game Pass library in 2021 alone. If you sit down and crunch the numbers, that's an average of $526 worth of games added every month.

Aside from the verified hits like Halo Infinite and Forza Horizon 5, the top-tier plan also gets you access to over 800 titles.

One publisher alone, Bethesda, added 30 game titles to the service in 2021, including The Elder Scrolls, Doom Eternal, and Rage 2, amounting to $604.71 worth of games.

March was the best month for Xbox Game Pass subscribers in 2021, with almost $1,000 worth of games added to its library. Even in April, which was the worst month in 2021 in terms of value, more than $300 worth of games was added.

Xbox Game Pass Offers More Than Just Games

Aside from the sheer number of titles, subscribers also get more perks from Xbox Game Pass. Console subscribers get member discounts, exclusive deals, and access to Xbox Game Studios titles the same day as release.

If you pick the PC plan, you also get access to EA Play, which has over 60 titles in its library. This includes several game franchises like Need for Speed, Battlefield, and Star Wars, plus classic titles like The Sims 4, Sim City, Command and Conquer, and Red Alert 3.

The Ultimate subscription offers even more, including the ability to play from the cloud, exclusive in-game content, and Xbox Live Gold.

Xbox Game Pass Is Excellent Value for Money

If you're the type of gamer who spenda hours playing your favorite games and trying out new titles, the $179.88 annual cost of the Ultimate plan represents excellent value for money. Given that AAA titles cost $60 at launch, that's the equivalent of just three games a year.

With the available game selection, added perks, and the titles expected to arrive in 2022, Xbox Game Pass is worth far more than three games. When you factor in all the other extras, Xbox Game Pass is one of the best value-for-money offerings around right now.
