All of a sudden I am unable to access Windows Media Player. The files are there, but when I click on one the player never appears and clicks back onto desktop. This is WMP version 11 on Windows Vista.

Dianne, thurana is right. Reinstalling Windows Media Player should solve your problem. In my opinion, however, VLC media player is much better at pretty much everything in comparison to WMP, so you might want to check that out as well: http://www.videolan.org/vlc/Also, a lot of these problems happen because of Vista. You might want to look into Windows 7 in the near future too.

Hi Dianne,Reinstalling the media player might solve the problem. Here's the download link:http://download.microsoft.com/download/0/9/5/0953E553-3BB6-44B1-8973-106F1B7E5049/wmp11-windowsxp-x86-enu.exeOr you might also want to try another solution found in this site:http://www.vistax64.com/sound-audio/108219-vista-windows-media-player-error-code-c00d11d2.html--> Go to Start: Type in Sound.Open up the Sound You will see probably one of two speakers - If you have Vista Home then it should be the standard Sigmatel. Right click on it and go to Properities. I advanced, uncheck the box that says "allow applications to take exclusive control of this device"Hope one of those two will help you.
