I am using Windows XP SP3. When I shut down my PC it shows that Windows Explorer will end now. If I click on it, it will take time to shut down. The error happens each time.

HiGo to msconfig, try CTRL-ALT-DEL and "End Task" on everything that is running except Explorer and Systray. If this resolves the problem then there is a program running in the background that is causing the problem. A simple process of elimination should determine what program is causing the errorsMethod 1:Step 1:I would suggest you to check in safe mode, follow the steps mentioned below.a. Restart the computer and keep tapping F8 till you reach the boot menu.b. Select Safe mode and press Enter. If this does not occur in safe mode then, I would suggest you to do a clean boot and check.Step 2:To perform a clean boot follow steps mentioned in the link given below. How to troubleshoot a problem by performing a clean boot in Windows Vista or in Windows 7http://support.microsoft.com/kb/929135try also Solutohttp://www.soluto.com/this will hhelp to increase windows response timetry SFC/Scannow1.Open Command Prompt.2.type the following command and then press Enter.sfc /scannowNote: There's a space between sfc and /scannow.you need your cd of windows xp with SP3
