Windows 7 SP 1 update fails during installation when it downloaded fine. Moreover all the other OS updates are installed successfully, yet this sole update is not installing.
I did try to cleanup the .NET framework using the article on this site, not sure if that affects anything.
Please help me :) Thanks!

I tried the first link and checked 'The report can be found at %windir%\logs\cbs\checksur.log'.I had three manifest files corrupt I presume. ha14,I ran the System File Checker and got no integrity violations.Should I really go for the Update Readiness Tool, it says its compatible with Windows 7 SP1, which I can't Install now

you should be able to run Update Readiness Tool on your system. Microsoft Fix it to reset the Windows Update Components http://support.microsoft.com/kb/971058

I downloaded it via Windows Update. All the Updates have installed successfully...yet this Windows SP1 for x64 system isn't installingThe error code is 80073712.@Basu Thanks for the Link. I checked my system for installed updates and found that my system didn't install Update KB2534366 while other two is installed. I couldn't find that update in the list of available updates too.Please help me with this

My error code is 80073712.I downloaded the service using Windows Update. All my updates are installing except Windows SP1 for X64 system

Did u download an offline copy of sp1 and attempted installation, or through windows update?provide the error message.

Do you have any pre-release versions of SP1 installed, Uninstall them before installing the final release version of SP1. Also check if your computer is clean. Read this troubleshooting guide on the Microsoft Help Center - http://support.microsoft.com/kb/2505743

Thanks for the link Basu. I found that I don't have the Windows Update file KB2534366. I think that might cause the problem.Please help me where I can find it. Moreover I searched it in my list of available update but no KB2534366 was found
