Windows won't install the service pack 1 update, and won't install a new copy i get an error that says unable to select installation language

Did you install the update via automatic mode? I think you should select the default language you installed the windows!But, if you have installed all the updates, it's not necessary to install service pack 1 of it! Also, if you want to install another language in your windows, check the 'other' section on windows updates, and select the language you want! If that doesn't work check this site , and download & install the language you want!

Try downloading the multi language pack from microsoft.

What language are you using? I use Japanese so it shouldn't be causing problem. Is your copy of Win7 original?

Have you tried running in English then changing language after? Is your Win7 Genuine? Sounds like needs contact with MS if all is legit as it could be a bug.

The service pack you are attemtping to install does not contain the proper language files to match the installed version of Win7 on your system. Download the multi-language service pack or a language specific version of the service pack from the Microsoft website and attempt installation again.
