We’re at the end of 2021, and it has been a very eventful year for Microsoft. The software giant rolled out a new operating system for the first time in nearly six years in the shape of Windows 11 and has been busy updating it ever since.

Microsoft flighted the final Insider Preview Build for 2021 this week, which comes with new features and plenty of bug fixes. The Preview Build is now available on the Dev Channel, so let's explore all the changes and additions made in the Windows 11 Insider Preview Build 22523.

Microsoft's Changes to Snap Groups and the Control Panel

First, there are going to be some changes to snap groups. Pressing Alt + Tab will display snap groups similar to what’s displayed when hovering over active apps on the Taskbar. This feature will also be available with Task View.

More significantly, Microsoft has made changes to how you configure your PC by moving some settings from the Control Panel to the Settings app. If you want to uninstall or change a program on your Windows 11 PC, you will be redirected to the Installed Apps page on the Settings app if you try to navigate to Control Panel > Programs & Features.

Similarly, the Uninstall Updates option from the Control Panel has been shifted to a new page in the Settings app. You can now access it through Settings > Windows Update > Update History.

How to Get the Windows 11 Insider Preview Build 22523

If you’re a Windows Insider of the Dev Channel, you should receive this update almost immediately. However, Microsoft is also providing ISOs for this build which you can download at the Microsoft Insider download page.

Similarly, you can always sign up for the Windows Insider Program and gain access to the latest Windows updates as they’re released.

2022, Here We Come

There have been lots of positives for Microsoft in 2021, and the success of Windows 11 has probably been its most significant one. While Windows 11 continues to reign supreme, Microsoft intends to improve it consistently through its Windows Insider Program. As such, 2022 looks to be an exciting year for Windows 11 users.
