I just upgraded my iPhone 3G from iOS 3.something to 4.2 and now it tells me that it's up to date. However, when I try to download any apps, the phone says that they aren't compatible and that I either need iOS 4.3 or 5.0, depending on the app. Please help!

I think Apple stopped supporting the 3G and many of the App store apps began supporting only 4.3 and above - sorry :(

The iPhone 3G is no longer supported by Apple, it's better to buy a new iPhone

Iphone 3 is out of date and no longer supported. With each new generation of phone they tend to out date and stop supporting the oldest generation.
