The new Fitbit Luxe delivers a rare combination of comprehensive health tracking tools and fashionable design. You can wear it to workouts as well as to a weekend brunch with friends.

To understand if it's the right fitness tracker for you, we're focusing on the included health monitoring tools and what makes it wearable away from a workout.

What Is the Fitbit Luxe?

Fitbit Luxe Device

The newest addition to Fitbit's line of fitness trackers, the Fitbit Luxe, combines the best of fashion and wellness in one wearable band.

The Luxe immediately sets itself apart from other fitness trackers by offering a more sleek and modern design. Making it even more appealing to those wondering if they should get a Fitbit in the first place.

The thinnest display Fitbit has made so far also brings the first AMOLED screen to a fitness band. It's a full-color display too, unlike the Fitbit Charge 4 that only shows grayscale.

Fitbit's newest tracker is $149.95 and comes with a silicone band. The Luxe has a battery life of about five days depending on your usage.

One of the more unique features of the Luxe is the ability to switch out the silicone band for other options. Fitbit already offers leather and woven bands, but the company has introduced more fashionable ones like stainless steel mesh or linked bracelets.

The company also partnered with jewelry company Gorjana to create a limited-edition Parker Link Bracelet band.

You can purchase the fitness tracker directly through the Fitbit site.

It's a Holistic, Not Just Fitness, Tracker

The Fitbit Luxe isn't just focusing on fitness tracking. The company is positioning the device as a holistic band.

It still has the same great health tracking tools from previous versions like the heart rate sensor, sleep tracking, and blood oxygen monitoring. What makes it even more appealing is the stress management score it accumulates throughout a day.

Instead of using an electrodermal activity sensor to monitor stress like previous models, the Luxe gathers data from a variety of sources like activity levels, sleep, and heart rate to determine your stress score.

On top of that, it's also capable of measuring your breathing rate, heart rate variability, resting heart rate, and skin temperature variation.

You can even use the Luxe during a pool workout. All you have to do is provide specific measurements of how long the pool is to track your laps.

The focus on holistic wellness doesn't mean the Luxe got rid of its fitness tracking tools. You can track up to 20 different workouts. And thanks to automatic workout detection, it can start tracking those metrics even if you forget to do so manually.

A big omission from the Luxe is the ability to track outdoor runs or hikes. The new fitness band doesn't have GPS capability, but you can still connect it to your smartphone's GPS system.

Included in your purchase is a six-month-long subscription to Fitbit Premium. That includes better health metrics, guided meditation, workout, and wellness programs. Fitbit Premium is $9.99 per month after your six-month trial.

Other Features of the Fitbit Luxe

Although not as prominent as the health monitoring features, your Fitbit Luxe is still able to provide notifications and reminders. You can even use it as an alarm or stopwatch for your workouts.

It doesn't include the ability to make mobile payments using Fitbit Pay, so you won't be able to make any purchases. You also won't be able to listen to music or store any files because it has no storage space.

The Fitbit Luxe is straddling the line between health and fashion. It's a great option for anyone who is looking for a fitness tracker that includes a host of health and fitness features while still fitting their personal lifestyle.

Fitbit Luxe: A Combination of Fashion and Health

There aren't many fitness trackers on the market that combine health and fashion as well as the Fitbit Luxe. The high price tag makes might turn off some, but it reflects Fitbit's attempt to bring a more comprehensive product to the market.

If you still aren't sure about the Luxe, compare it to the other Fitbit devices to make sure you're making the right decision.
