I am connected to Verizon FiOS Quantum in Oradell, New Jersey, United States. I have a problem streaming YouTube videos, despite the fact that all other webpages and apps that connect to the Internet (both on my computer running Windows 8 Pro, and on my phone running Android 4.1.2). When I make a Skype call it works seamlessly both on my phone and on my computer, when I download an app or load a webpage on both devices, it works fine and loads relatively quickly, considering my computer is connected via ethernet and my phone is right next to the router most of the time. But then YouTube becomes a problem. Whilst everything else is lightning fast, YouTube is painstakingly slow on both systems (computer and phone). How do I source the problem and/or find out what it is? And once the problem is identified, what do I do to fix it?

I have been having the same problem since almost a year. I have called FiOS many times about it. FiOS asked me to updated my internet speed to Quantum which i did and i am still having the same problem. I called FiOS again they asked me call youtube because the problem is with youtube. I don't know whats going on but i m waiting for my contract to end so i can switch to Comcast.

There's a version of YouTube – currently in Beta – designed to speed up the site for people like you. It's not a perfect solution, but it's worth a shot: http://www.youtube.com/feather_beta

usually slow internet connection will be the problem. But if the speed you posted is correct it should work without any problems.Change some settings in youtube website, and even better try logging in with another account,.

It can probably be attributed to Adobe Flash player, like Rajaa said above.I would also recommend checking out the Chrome browser on both devises. Also try the official YouTube app from the Play Store. Finally, if it continues to be a problem, call your ISP.

Go to https://www.youtube.com/html5 and click on Join the HTML5 trial. See if there is any difference after that. However, you have to do this process, every time you clear Chrome history and cache.
