My laptop mutes itself and Windows Media Player is unable to open anything when I activate enhancements such as Virtual Surround or Loudness Eqiulization. I am using a Sony Vaio VPCEH28FN running Windows 7 Home Premium. The sounds are heard only if I switch off the enhancements.

Jerome Gideon,Let's see what Microsoft Community has to say on this. :D( http://answers.microsoft.com/en-us/windows/forum/windows_7-hardware/my-laptop-mutes-itself/c3990431-ab11-48bd-9ce3-4ad5d3991d8d )

Jerome,I saw your reply on the Microsoft Forum. I also faced a similar situation. I have a W7_64 system with a Logitech Headset with Microphone. When I had the enhancement enabled, I could hear peoples voice in Skype, but they could not hear me, even with a +30dB my voice sounded very faint and was hardly audible. After ticking off the enhancement, everything worked fine. I have no clue, why this should happen at all.
