My Torrent download speed may be around 75kbps, but my data card connectivity app shows receiving speed of around 1200kbps, even when no other downloads run and browsers remaining idle. Where does the remaining data go? Is this normal?

the speed on the data card specifications card is the speed of the data link between your laptop/pc to your router.

when you torrent, your speed may increase or decreases according to the numbers of seeders. the more seeders you have the more speed you will gain but not over what you have subscribed for. The remaining data that is being received might be being used by other apps. You are getting what you subscribed for but the torrent has less seeders.

You may want to check for background (hidden) processes as well.

It is normal, provider speed never matches actual download speed and that's perfectly normal, first Torrent is a distributed network where people may have different and possibly slow upload connections which lowers the download rate, second when you download you only use 1 port and provider may be limiting the traffic on that port, third there may be some background processes doing "something" without your knowledge.

Sometimes the speed is divided for some other apps like, some software update themselves, but this is not the main problem, is the receiving speed on your data card app is right? You can check the speed on other apps like download software using any other software and test the downloading and uploading speed of your data card.

It depends on other people seeding. It's like a pipeline, there is a wide pipe on your side so lots of water could flow though it, but the pipe connected to it where the water is coming from is only a narrow pipe, so to get it to download faster you need a wider pipe that's supplying the water, hence find a torrent with more seeders.
