My question is almost exactly the same as "Why do all my downloads stop after some time?" (https://www.makeuseof.com/answers/downloads-stop-time/ ) that was asked in this forum. The comments were closed to this & so a new question, my apologies.

I have a Windows 7/SP1 laptop & a Nexus tablet. On both these when I watch videos on Youtube it stops after a few minutes/seconds, same with downloads too when I try to download these videos. I do not see this happening with a Windows XP machine I have. A couple of suggestions by Oron Joffe on the other thread seems relevant. I have tried speaking to the ISP but has not helped. Also the fact that it also happens on the Nexus tablet makes it more confusing. What could be a permanent resolution to this problem. Right now, I have to monitor this download, & repeatedly keep restarting it. Its very painful.

Can you use a wired connection on your laptop? Do you see the same issue when wired vs wireless? Since the tables exhibits the same behavior, it is possible the issue lies with you settings for wireless networking.
