The OnePlus 11 is a direct competitor to Samsung's Galaxy S23 and Google's Pixel 7. Starting at $699, the OnePlus 11 is $100 cheaper than the base 128GB model of the S23 and $100 more than the Pixel 7.

If you're looking for an upper midrange phone with incredible specs at an accessible price, these three phones are the ones you should be considering. But the OnePlus 11 has several outstanding features that might make it better for you than the other two.

1. Bigger QHD+ LTPO Display

  • OnePlus 11: 6.7-inch QHD+ LTPO3 AMOLED Display; 3216x1440 resolution; 525 PPI; 120Hz refresh rate; 1300 nits peak brightness; HDR10+, Dolby Vision support
  • Samsung Galaxy S23: 6.1-inch FHD+ Dynamic AMOLED Display; 2340x1080 resolution; 425 PPI; 120Hz adaptive refresh rate (48~120Hz); 1750 nits peak brightness; HDR10+ support
  • Google Pixel 7: 6.3-inch FHD+ Dynamic AMOLED Display; 2340x1080 resolution; 416 PPI; 90Hz refresh rate; 1400 nits peak brightness; HDR10+ support

The OnePlus 11 is a perfect choice if you need a bigger screen. It sports a 6.7-inch panel with QHD+ resolution and a higher pixel density (525 pixels per inch) that translates to crisp images.

OnePlus also went further by using an AMOLED panel with LTPO 3 technology, enabling the device to dynamically adjust refresh rates between 1Hz and 120Hz, depending on what you're doing, making it much more battery-efficient.

The Pixel 7 lacks an adaptive refresh rate, and on the vanilla S23, the display is limited to refresh between 48Hz and 120Hz dynamically. The two also have FHD+ resolution, which is inferior to that of the OnePlus 11.

2. Bigger 5000mAh Battery

  • OnePlus 11: 5000mAh battery
  • Samsung Galaxy S23: 3900mAh battery
  • Google Pixel 7: 4355mAh battery

With smartphone batteries, bigger is always better, and the OnePlus 11 offers the biggest battery of the three by some margin. On top of that, the device uses a power-efficient Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 chip which also aids in ensuring better screen time before you need to charge.

Credit to Samsung, the S23 uses Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 for Galaxy, which is just as power efficient but has a smaller 3900mAh battery. A 4355mAh battery powers the Pixel 7, and Google uses its in-house Tensor G2 processor which is widely considered the least efficient.

3. Supports Up to 100W Fast Charging

  • OnePlus 11: up to 100W wired charging support (limited to 80W in the US and Indian markets)
  • Samsung Galaxy S23: up to 25W wired, 10W wireless, and 4.5W reverse wireless charging support
  • Google Pixel 7: up to 20W wired, 20W wireless, and 5W reverse wireless charging support

Another important feature that makes the OnePlus 11 stand out is the support for up to 100W wired charging. These blazing-fast speeds are one of the best features of the OnePlus 11. Due to the higher charging speeds, the device charges faster than the S23 and Pixel 7 despite having a bigger battery.

According to OnePlus, the device takes 10 minutes to take its battery from 1 to 50% and an extra 15 minutes for a full charge. In other words, it takes 25 minutes to fully charge the OnePlus 11 from 1%.

On the other hand, you'll need 30 minutes to charge the S23 to 50% at 25W, according to Samsung. The Pixel 7 takes about the same time (about 30 minutes) from 1% to 50%, according to Google, with the company's 30W charging brick.

4. Ships With a Charging Brick

  • OnePlus 11: Includes 80/100W charging brick, USB-A to USB-C cable, device, SIM ejection tool, USB-A to USB-C adapter
  • Samsung Galaxy S23: Includes device, USB-C to USB-C cable, SIM ejection tool, USB-A to USB-C adapter
  • Google Pixel 7: Includes device, USB-C to USB-C cable, SIM ejection tool, USB-A to USB-C adapter

Unlike Samsung and Google, OnePlus includes a charging brick inside the package. That saves you some cash since you don't have to buy it separately if you need one, and it will ensure that you can charge your phone at top speed.

The OnePlus 11 ships with a single-port USB-A charging brick. The dual-port option shown in the image is sold separately.

For reference, Google's 30W USB-C charger costs $25, and Samsung's 25W charger costs $19.99. Sure, it's not that expensive, but we bet you prefer having a charging brick included to paying extra for it.

5. Available in More Memory and Storage Configurations

  • OnePlus 11: 8/128GB, 12/256GB, 16/256GB, 16/512GB
  • Samsung Galaxy S23: 8/128GB, 8/256GB, 8/512GB
  • Google Pixel 7: 8/128GB, 8/256GB

The amount of storage you need in a smartphone might be low or high depending on the type of smartphone user you are. Although the OnePlus 11 offers as high as 512GB of storage, just like the S23, it has more memory options; you can pick between 8, 12, or 16GB RAM.

The S23 and Pixel 7 have 8GB of memory across all models, which is a bummer if you need more.

When Shouldn't You Buy the OnePlus 11?

The OnePlus 11 has excellent specs, although it sacrifices some important features that are available on the S23 and Pixel 7.

There's no wireless charging, the selfie camera only shoots 1080p video (vs. 4K @30/60 fps on the S23 and Pixel 7), and there's no IP68 rating so the phone isn't water-resistant. If these missing features matter to you, then the Pixel 7 or the S23 might still be a better option.
