My folders on my external hard drive and all external drives are hidden. Scanned them all for viruses, tried the "show hidden files" option in explorer and the Run > "cmd" > drive name and the attrib option, with no luck.

I can see my folders in the side bar, but not in Explorer! Any help is highly appreciated with regards to my problem.

Thanks!

Try to open your HDD in Linux environment and see if you can get them back. Then format your HDD as your file system might be corrupted.

I can access my files on my external HHD on another computer just fine. I've discovered this morning the all my folders in My Computer are hidden, i can access them in the left pane but they don't show in explorer. It can't be a virus because i can access my folders in my library just fine.

Try this: Open my computer and go to "tool" menu. Select folder option, and on view tab activate the "show hidden files and folders". When done select all these hidden file and change their properties by removing the 'hidden' option. But most of the time this happen due to a virus or malware infection.
