I purchased a laptop with Windows 8 factory installed. I read that new PCs do not have a COA sticker. How do I activate my Windows 8 if my hard drive fails and I don't have a COA? Thanks :)

try Belarc Advisor: http://www.belarc.com/free_download.htmlIf you would like to re-install Windows 8:· Press Windows key + i on your keyboard to show the Charms bar · Click Change PC settings· Click General in the left column· Under Remove everything and re-install Windows, click Get startedthe OEM Windows 8 pre-installed license is tied to the machine so you are not allowed to install it on another computer. To avoid OEM product keys from being compromised Microsoft made Activation 3.0 for newly built machines that come pre-loaded with Windows 8, you won’t have a COA (Certificate of Authenticity) sticker attached to the machine anymore. Instead, this will be embedded in the BIOS.
