I have just wrote a question regarding the use and rights on the logos on http://mintlogos.com. they have quite a few sweet looking designs. What ever you do, I would highly recommend creating your own rather than paying someone else, this way it's truly yours..

there are a multitude of how to videos on you tube for creating logos with freeware likeinkscape that can save your work as a vector so you can resize your logo while keeping it sharp and clear or save it as a bitmap. If your artistic and are willing to take some time to learn what you can do in inkscape by watching some tutorials on youtube you can come up with some beautiful logos, butons and other items for your websites design.go on you tube and search "how to make a logo with inkscape" or "how to make website butons with inkscape"here is one example https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=CJt9AKkM4ZI

If you decide to outsource the job to a graphic design I would suggest using 99designs.com. We have used it several times for various MakeUseOf needs and it never disappointed us.
