Good news for sticker-loving WhatsApp users! A new update for the web version of the instant messaging platform allows you to turn regular images from your computer into stickers.

Stickers are a great way to add personality and fun to your messages, and this new feature allows you to be as creative and unique as you want.

What You Can Do With WhatsApp's Sticker Maker

Like many other social media platforms, WhatsApp has long supported stickers. However, they were all provided by third-party sticker makers. If you didn't want to use third-party sticker makers with WhatsApp, your only other option was to hope that your contacts would send you fun stickers while texting, which you could then collect and use to create a Sticker Library.

However, with the new feature, you now have complete creative freedom to create as many custom stickers as you want and share them with your friends and family via WhatsApp.

To use the new feature, open WhatsApp on the web and enter a chat. Next, click the Paperclip (attachments) icon, choose Sticker, and then upload an image.

After that, you can customize your image with emojis, text, and even existing stickers, as well as trim it to a desired shape and size. To get a more zoomed-out finished product, crop or rotate the image you've uploaded, as well as the transparent background.

Editing an image in WhatsApp Sticker Maker

You can only use still images as sticker material as of this release. Videos and GIFs aren't compatible. If you use them, the end result will be a still image of one of the frames from the video or GIF you uploaded.

You won't need any advanced graphic design skills to make awesome stickers with the WhatsApp Sticker Maker because it's so simple to use. Plus, editing stickers with the precision of a mouse pointer rather than using stubby fingers on mobile is highly convenient.

When to Expect the Sticker Maker to Arrive on WhatsApp Desktop

The Sticker Maker will be available on WhatsApp's desktop apps at the beginning of December 2021. It may then make its way to the mobile version at some point, but WhatsApp hasn't confirmed that just yet.
