I have this idea for a home/art project. I want my girlfriend and I to record the same phrase and then export/save the graphical representation of that sound to/as a high res image file, like this one: http://www.emeraldinsight.com/content_images/fig/1640260406003.png

Her recording would be played through one channel and mine through the other one. I would then edit the colors and everything to create, what I hope would end up as, an awesome image that we can then frame and hang in our home. I would need the left channel, right channel and stereo images.

Does anyone have a clue what recording software would allow me to do this? Or if there is an online resource we could use? If necessary we could access higher end recording equipment in case my good old laptop with an external microphone won't do the job.

press "Print Screen/SysRq" key, from your keyboard, and then open "paint program" (windows picture editing) and paste (ctrl-v). Now you can save that picture by pressing save (ctrl+s).
