The TikTok Creator fund is the platform's way of rewarding content creators and helping its community turn their creativity into a career.

The tech giant, famous for its dance challenges, has pledged to allocate around $300 million to this fund from the three years after March 25, 2021.

For the first year, TikTok has set aside $70 million for the fund which will be distributed to creators. They will receive their share of this fund depending on the quality and performance of their original content.

This article will explain what the TikTok Creator Fund is and how it works.

The TikTok Creator Fund 101

In a post on the TikTok Newsroom, TikTok clarified that the new Creator Fund is not a grant---nor is it is not an ad revenue-sharing program.

The fund is money the company has put aside and is distributing to creators. The latter earn these as rewards when they create and share original videos on the platform.

The amount of reward they earn is dynamic, so there’s no clear set amount per day or period. It is calculated based on the number and authenticity of views and level of engagement, among other things.

The calculation according to some content creators can be confusing, though, with some even claiming it has decreased their views.

TikTok Creator Fund Eligibility Requirements

While there’s no limit on the number of content creators who can join, there are certain eligibility requirements you have to meet.

TikTok Rewards the Content Creators

The TikTok Creator Fund is a way to reward the platform's community for all the original content they produce. It’s a relatively new program, so there’s still a lot of room for improvement.

The platform should be able to address all the concerns from content creators as the company streamlines and improves the process with more experience.
