I added the comment:
I have been looking for very long time for something similar:
I would like to save highlighted text to html files, instead of simple text files, but have not yet find a Firefox addon that does that.
if you ever run across something like that i would be very grateful, if you write an article about it.
Does anyone here knows about such a program or addon for firefox?

I use "AutoCopy" version 1.0.2 for Firefox. It's an add-on extension. Click then shift-Click on a portion of a web page (html) and it copies to the the Clip-board. I then paste it into Outlook Express (it retains the html font colors, etc.) You have to search for the version 1.0.2 of AutoCopy as the most recent version won't paste in html ... at least that's my experience.

Hey Ender: thanks for saving all of us from the hive queen. Really appreciate it. I've yet to find something like this, so I usually just open the source code and copy from there. Best of luck!

If you have seen the other suggested tool Hopper,it has bookmarklet which allows you to do the same thing and also doesn't
consumes memory as it doesn't requires any installation.http://gethopper.com/bookmarkletIf you don't like to have it on Bookmark toolbar, you can get it to be as a button as described below -http://gethopper.com/bookmarklet
