I have connected my iPod to my new PC and via SharePod I am trying to install my music onto my PC.

The iPod shows up on the hard drive as a mobile device E and therefore SharePod does not recognize it. What can I do to correct this?

Uninstall itunes so that the installed apple device driver gets uninstalled. Install iTunes again and connect your iPod so that your pc recognises your device as an apple device not as a mass storage device. When the drivers get installed properly, sharepod will automatically detect your device as iPod

Go into the settings section on your iPod and go to PC connection preference and select the other option.

Make sure your iPod is formatted in Windows disk format i.e. restored/previously used from iTunes running on Windows.Make sure your iPod was actually used before because SharePod can't handle new or factory restored devices that haven't been used with iTunes before.

enable "View hidden files" on your computer, explore the iPod, open its "Music" folder, and copy all of the files in that folder. Manage your iPod with SharePodhttp://www.makeuseof.com/tag/manage-your-ipod-with-sharepod/
