I would like to learn some songs on the guitar and am looking for some websites that can help me do so. Do you have any suggestions?

It partly depends in what kind of guitar/songs you want to play. If you are interested in basic, easy songs and are happy to start with folk-style songs, you might want to take a look at my site, www.cathyschords.com There is a range of songs that many people know, arranged in levels from beginner songs (2 chords) on. You can always branch out to other styles/harder songs once you have the basics- there are heaps of sites with lyrics and chords, and YouTube also has some great tutorials, if you know what to look for.

Follow Eric Clapton's example: lock yourself in your bedroom and don't come out until you cab play.Worked for me.

Justinguitar.com is by far the best website that i have seen for learning chords, scales and specifically songs. It has various genre lessons also which are designed in such a way so that you can become a pro guitarist and that is off-course if you follow the practice schedule. I've been using the website since 2009 and i can assure you that the content quality and the way Justin explains the lessons is just amazing. Within a year i was able to play songs without using tabs and notations. Now what about the money ???????? well the best thing about Justin is he is a true giver, the lessons are all free. There is a 'DONATE' option on the site which encourages people to donate if and only if they found the lessons useful and knowledgeable.

Depends what sort of songs your after, some websites have all the popular songs but you may not find tabs for less popular music. Theres no real difference between the main tab websites. If you're new to playing, youtube and other online video services can be very useful due to so many people uploading tutorials! :)

youtube has many channels by people who upload their tutorials for free reference.guitar.about.com is also very helpful.my suggestion: chords can be searched for on google images, and once u learn them, look for guitar scales, and learn all these by heart, and only then, proceed to watch videos on any site. if you watch the videos beforehand, then you might lose some enthusiasm after a while since you will compare your own progress with that of the pro playing in that video.
