I have a problem with Outlook 2007. I am trying to import a data file that I have placed on my desktop called outlook.pst. I am getting an error message stating " C:\...\outlook.pst is not an Outlook data file (.pst).

The Outlook.pst is outlook file but its saying it is not an Outlook file. Is there anything wrong? That sounds weird. ScanPST.exe says that it can't repair the file.

Please post if you have any suggestion. Thank you.

Let me know how to take back my Outlook inbox content?

If you are unable to resolve it then don't worry more because i am telling you the adject solution of your problem. Go to the location C:/Program files/Microsoft Office/ Office version/Scanpst.exe and open this file. You will get an interface like a box so click on the browse button to select the pst file and click on start button to repair it. Wait for a while it will solve your problem. Based on your description, it is very likely that your PST file is corrupt or damaged. The first resort on such a problem is using the scanpst. However, since it does not work for your case, you will have to use third-party tools. In the past, I have encountered similar problems and I use DataNumen Outlook Repair at http://www.datanumen.com/outlook-repair/ to repair my PST file and recover my data completely. So you can also have a try. There are many other Outlook recovery tools online but DataNumen is the only one I have personal experiences so I can recommend it to you.Hope this helps!
