Hi guys,
I just bought a Sony Bravia 50W82xB. Great product!
We really love that we can use my external HDD (USB) to watch movies on the TV. But today we've had some pause in the internet service and I realised that If there's no internet, the media player function will NOT open because it detects the lack of internet.
So my question is: Is there any way I can use my external HDD in offline mode, in case we don't have Internet access?
Thanks for your answers!
P.

Hello, you should be able to. It is a matter of connecting the external and then selecting USB in the settings. If you have the user manual, refer to the section where it tells you what formats your TV supports from USB.In older models, only fat32 was supported, but newer models sometimes are able to read NTFS formatted drives. User Manual should have all the info. If you do not have user manual, you can get it here:http://download.sony-europe.com/pub/manuals/tvhc/4489537112.pdf

if you connect the hard drive to Sony TV ensure that hard drive is formatted in FAT32 or exFATif your Sony Bravia 50W82xB has wifi and DLNA capabilties then you can use a DLNA server such as Seviiohttp://www.serviio.org/index.php?option=com_content&view=article&id=51. A laptop or PC with wireless net access or connected directly to the wireless router. 2. Serviio (www.serviio.org) be installed to the PC or laptop. 3. A USB cable which connect your hard drive to the PC or laptop. 4. Enable Wi-fi on your Sony TV.
