I'm looking for software recommendations for transferring Beta1, Betacam, BetacamSP, VHS, u-matic video tape, Sony and Pioneer format interactive laser discs and Super8 and 16mm film to digital.

Thanks.

Are you able to play the videos on a device with RCA video and audio out? If so, you would need to use a RCA audio/video input to USB capture device. Here are some devices you can use: https://www.anrdoezrs.net/links/7251228/type/dlg/sid/UUmuoUeUpU73499/https://www.tigerdirect.com/applications/category/category_slc.asp?catId=314You can use almost any media player that can record from an input device that recognizes the video capture device, and should be able to select the video and audio format parameters. VLC Media player, MPC-HC (Media Player Classic-Home Cinema, etc., would be able to record the video and audio, but the devices may have their own software you can use, as well. You can use Windows or Live Movie Maker or other video editor to edit the videos, add titles, etc.If you have any further questions, feel free to ask.

I believe what you really should be looking for is the right hardware to connect such devices to your computer. In most cases neither your motherboard nor your graphics card will have a video-in port. So you will need something like a Blackmagic Intensity card or 'box' and then connect the devices e.g. the VHS player to your computer using the component cable.Once they are connected to a video input you can use pretty much any recording software to capture the data ~ even VLC or Microsoft Movie Maker.

Software alone won't do it. You need some way of converting the analog video stream to digital. Here are several external adapters, and the instructions:http://www.digitaltrends.com/home-theater/how-to-convert-vhs-to-dvd/2/You could also use a TV capture card and the appropriate cables (RCA, S-Video, or composite) to bring the video into your PC. Hauppage makes some good ones: http://www.amazon.com/Hauppauge-01381-IMPACTVCB-E-S-VIDEO-COMPOSITE/dp/B00BVW42LE/ref=sr_1_9?s=electronics&ie=UTF8&qid=1409770875&sr=1-9&keywords=rca+video+capture&tag=muo-v2-4dscbcb-20&ascsubtag=UUmuoUeUpU73499&asc_refurl=https%3A%2F%2Fwww.makeuseof.com%2Fvideo-conversion-software-will-transfer-obsolete-video-formats-digital%2F&asc_campaign=EvergreenA list of video-capture software: http://download.cnet.com/windows/video-capture-software/
