I have a 4GB USB pen drive, can I use it for increasing my computer's RAM and boost its performance?

use a micro SD card on a laptop for readyboost and some desktops also. It helps a bit on the slower pc's, not so much on a faster one..

readyboost is a nifty concept, but usb is WAY slower than regular ram interface, so i think is creates a bottleneck more than anything else.

You can use it for ReadyBoost but as twinkle said I don't think you will be seeing a significant speed increase.

If you use Windows Vista or later, you can use the readyboost technology to do this, as mentioned in this forum > http://forums.cnet.com/5208-12546_102-0.html?threadID=238817#2433856 . But I don't think you'll notice any significant increase in speed. Moreover, as far as I know, frequently writing data to a flash drive can wear it out!
