More and more creators have plucked up the courage to follow their passions, and photography is a booming industry right now. To help those looking to turn their camera skills into a paycheck, several entrepreneurs have created a range of apps to help them out. Unscripted is one such example.

With this app, you can manage your business from a single interface—along with finding inspiration for your photoshoots and much more.

What exactly is Unscripted, though? How much does the app cost, and why should you use it as a photographer? Let’s find out.

What Can You Do With Unscripted?

Now that we’ve covered what Unscripted is, let’s look at three of its most useful features worth exploring.

Add Your Client Photoshoot Bookings

If you want to enjoy long-term success as a photographer, you must stay organized. Can you imagine how badly your reputation would suffer if you missed a photoshoot?

With Unscripted, you can add every client photoshoot you book into the app. Once you’ve clicked on Create New Shoot, you can add your client and their goals. You can also set when the other party should send invoices, in addition to creating a questionnaire that gets all the information you need from your client.

When adding client photoshoot bookings, Unscripted also allows you to develop a timeline and build a checklist to follow.

Check Daylight Hours in Your Area

Every successful photographer knows how to use light to their advantage. The time of day you shoot in can significantly impact your photo results, so you should factor in daylight hours depending on your goals.

Unscripted has a helpful feature that shows you your local area’s sunrise and sunset times. On a more granular level, you can see the blue hour and golden hour times. The free edition shows you sunrise, blue hour, and golden hour for the morning. With the full version, you can see each of these for the evening as well.

If you want to view sunrise and sunset times for a different date, click on the calendar icon in the top right-hand corner.

Create Documents That You Can Send to Clients

As a business owner, you’ll need to create legally binding documents each time you work with a client. If you don’t, you could needlessly find yourself in hot water. However, creating documents is often monotonous and time-consuming, which means that many creatives take a significant risk.

Unscripted has several document templates that you can send to people that have booked you for photoshoots. Some that you can use include:

  • Contracts
  • Invoice terms
  • Booking links

To access your templates, go to My Business > Templates.

Almost every freelancer and small business owner knows that managing your company can get overwhelming. If you try to do so in multiple places on your computer, you risk bottlenecking yourself and forgetting deadlines.

Unscripted simplifies your business management by including most of the tools you need within a single interface. The app shows you how much money you’ve made, in addition to invoices that clients still need to pay.

In the Unscripted app, you can also see all of your questionnaires awaiting completion and contracts you need signatures for. You can find each element mentioned in this section by clicking on My Business and navigating to the Stats tab.

The top dogs in any creative field get there because they remain curious—even once they’ve built sustainable businesses. Photography is becoming increasingly competitive, and you’ll fall behind if you aren’t willing to continuously improve your skills.

You’ll naturally learn more about the craft when you get out there and shoot. However, you shouldn’t underestimate the importance of picking up additional skills at home. With Unscripted, doing so is straightforward.

Unscripted has a vast library of resources to help you learn more about photography. In the app, you’ll find helpful eBooks, including one that tells you everything you need to know about turning your hobby into a business.

The app also has numerous videos, podcast episodes, and more. You can access everything you need by clicking on Education & Resources.

Send Professional-Looking Documents

You can get away with sending basic-looking documents in your early days. However, branding is crucial for growth in the long run—and some clients might not take you seriously if you quickly haste together an agreement on Microsoft Word.

Unscripted’s document templates look professional and require little editing before you’re ready to send them to your clients. As such, you can focus more on planning for the shoot and ensuring that the people you work with get the best possible service.

Unscripted Is a Powerful Tool for Your Photography Business

Creating a sustainable and successful photography business requires a lot of work. Luckily, you can streamline the process by investing in useful apps like Unscripted.

Unscripted has several features to help you simultaneously manage your photography company and save time. You can provide your clients an even better experience in the future by utilizing its resource library, too.

While Unscripted might seem pricey if you’re new to creative entrepreneurship, you’ll see a return on the investment—as long as you’re willing to put in the work on the side.
