I want to download ubuntu 12.04 for my 64-bit machine. Is ubuntu 12.04 available for 64-bit machines? If yes, how and from where should I download? Otherwise which is next best OS?

http://www.ubuntu.com/download/desktopOn that page click the dropdown and select 64bit.Linux had 64bit years before Microsoft did. Most distros have a 64bit version along side the 32bit. I'd venture a guess that there are almost NO distros that don't offer a 64bit version.

Yes! Both 32 and 64 bit Ubuntu is published to the Ubuntu website and available for download. Give it a try!The official Ubuntu website: www.ubuntu.com
