Any software developer will tell you that one of the most important keys to developing a good app or program is to test it extensively. When you've worked on something for so long, it's easy to get used to what it's like. In a way, you become blind to its flaws.

This is why Twitter is now asking for your help—to make Super Follows and Ticketed Spaces the best they can be ahead of their official release.

Apply Now to Test Twitter's New Monetization Features

Twitter is opening applications for user assistance in testing its upcoming premium features, namely Super Follows and Ticketed Spaces. If you live in the US, you can apply now through the Twitter mobile app. Just open the sidebar, and then tap Monetization.

"We’re looking for a small group of people to be the first to try Ticketed Spaces and Super Follows with their audiences and share feedback," Twitter writes in a post on its media blog. "Help us test and improve these experiences before they launch more broadly in the coming months."

Only iOS users will be able to test both features, though. Android users can use Ticketed Spaces, but Super Follows are currently restricted to iOS.

Twitter says that it'll only take three percent any money you make from Super Follows and Ticketed Spaces (after the in-app purchases fees on App Store and Google Play), but that cut will increase to 20 percent if you make more than $50,000 in lifetime earnings.

The company originally claimed that it was going to take 20 percent regardless of your revenue, but that was swiftly changed. For comparison's sake, OnlyFans charges 20 percent, while Patreon has a base rate of just five percent.

What Are Super Follows?

A preview of Super Follows on Twitter

Super Follows allows qualified users on Twitter to set up a subscription service. Users have the option to pay $2.99/, $4.99/, or $9.99/month for exclusive content from their favorite creators.

The company first hinted at Super Follows in early February 2021, before showing off a preview of the feature at Twitter Analyst Day 2021.

What Are Ticketed Spaces?

Ticketed Spaces are simply a paid version of Spaces, Twitter's take on the live audio chatroom format popularized by Clubhouse. It's like having an entrance fee—you can set a Space's ticket price as low as $1, as high as $999, or any price in-between.

The size of a Ticketed Space can also be adjusted, so you choose whether you want to invite a small handful of people, or an entire crowd.
