Twitter has finally unveiled Twitter Blue, a subscription service that provides Twitter users with some additional perks. Currently, Twitter Blue is only available in Australia and Canada.

Twitter Blue Brings Enticing Perks to the Table

Rumors have been swirling about a potential Twitter subscription service for months, and Twitter confirmed the possibility in mid-May. But now, the subscription service has finally come to fruition.

Twitter Blue brings more features to the Twitter experience, all of which have been continually requested by the Twitter community. A post on the Twitter Blog outlined the perks users will receive, which include Bookmark Folders, Reader Mode, and, most excitingly, Undo Tweet.

Bookmark Folders allows you to organize your saved Tweets. This means you'll be able to store your saved Tweets in different folders that you can name and categorize. So, instead of scrolling through a single jumbled list of saved Tweets to find one post, you'll be able to quickly find the Tweet in its dedicated folder.

Reader Mode is another feature that Blue subscribers can benefit from, and provides a cleaner experience when reading long threads on Twitter. Instead of having to read a series of separate Tweets, the thread will appear almost like a typical news article, making it much easier to read.

Undoubtedly, the most exciting feature that comes with Twitter Blue is the Undo Tweet button. If you accidentally send out a Tweet with a typo, you'll have the chance to hit the Undo button. The Undo button won't be there forever, though—you can set a timeframe of up to 30 seconds to take back your Tweet, reply, or thread.

Aside from these three features, Twitter Blue subscribers will also be able to customize the Twitter app icon, apply custom themes to Twitter, as well as gain access to dedicated customer support. Twitter Blue will cost users a monthly fee of $3.49 CAD or $4.49 AUD.

There's no word on when this will be released in countries outside of Canada and Australia. Twitter also describes this release of Twitter Blue as its "first iteration," which means that there's likely more to come.

Are These Perks Enticing Enough?

Twitter has been struggling to come up with ways to gain revenue from its platform, and Twitter Blue is its solution. But will users really pay to gain additional features?

Twitter has remained largely the same since its inception, and the majority of users have learned to deal with some of the frustrating features that come along with using Twitter. Avid Tweeters might want to pay more for that Undo button, but as of right now, the subscription doesn't offer much to the average user.
