It's not uncommon to see screenshots of Tweets shared on other platforms like Facebook, Instagram, Reddit, and even Snapchat. But now, Twitter is actually encouraging cross-platform sharing. The platform is allowing users on iOS to share Tweets via Snapchat.

You Can Now Post Tweets to Your Snapchat Stories

Tweeting on Snapchat might sound odd, but Twitter is making it entirely possible. Twitter announced the rollout of the new sharing option in a Tweet.

Users on iOS can share Tweets in the form of stickers on their Snapchat Stories. The Tweet will appear much like it does on the Twitter app and website, and it will also include a link to the original Tweet. Once you open the Tweet in Snapchat, you can resize it just like you would any other sticker.

Fortunately, this means that you'll no longer have to rely on screenshots in order to share Tweets via Snapchat. The built-in sharing tool will make the entire process easier and faster.

In another Tweet, Twitter also acknowledged that it's testing out a similar feature for Instagram. However, this feature is currently available to a select number of users. There's also no word on when Snapchat sharing will come to Android users.

Twitter has been rolling out a slew of new changes on the platform, including Fleets, a temporary Tweeting feature that no one even asked for. The platform has also done away with threaded replies, an organizational feature that proved to make things more disorganized.

How to Share Tweets on Snapchat Stories

To start sharing Tweets on your Snapchat Stories, first ensure that you have the latest update of the Twitter app on iOS.

From there, all you have to do is open Twitter, and tap on the Share icon underneath a Tweet. Hit the Snapchat logo, and the Tweet sticker will automatically open in Snapchat.

You can then resize the Tweet sticker and use Snapchat's editing tools to continue tweaking your photo. After that, you can share it just like a typical Story.

A Win-Win Situation for Snapchat and Twitter

The Tweet-to-Snapchat sharing feature is beneficial for both Twitter and Snapchat. It will inevitably drive more traffic to Snapchat, all while directing traffic back to Twitter.

Plus, screenshots of Tweets are hard to trace back to the original source. Sure, you could look up the username that you see in the photo, but then you might have to scroll through months' worth of Tweets to find the exact post.

Now that Tweets can be shared with an actual link, it's easier for users to trace. This gives the original user the credit they deserve, and may even increase that user's follower count.
