Specs:

AMD Athlon ?1.2Ghz? (Socket 462)

512 MB RAM

20 GB IDE Drive

40 GB IDE Driver

1 x Integrated NIC

3 x PCI NICs

1 x Wireless NIC

This may help: http://shepherdnick.wordpress.com/setting-up-a-pc-as-a-wireless-router-using-ics/or this program will work:http://www.connectify.me/These require Windows 7 or 2008 R2... Which should work out good for you. The performance is not as good as a real WAP but should work just fine. Have Fun!

not a fan of the Routing & RAS from Windows Server... I don't know about Server 2008 but for 2003 even when you enforce an policy update (after changing firewall config or so) some rules might not be active yetSome distros you might want to take a look at:m0n0wall - http://m0n0.ch/wall/Zentyal - former eBox, http://www.zentyal.org/ClearOS - http://www.clearfoundation.com/Astaro - http://www.astaro.com/
