Is Apple copying Microsoft Surface snapped windows feature in coming iOS 8 for iPad? I heard the rumor and want to confirm the same.

Nowadays, companies do take 'inspiration' from their competitors and they implement it in their own style. So,it can be said that Apple might implement snap feature in their own style.

This rumor came out only 24h ago and all articles state the same source (9to5mac) so you will hardly get any valuable confirmation as everyone who heard about it would ultimately have the same single source. That said this feature is stated to be "in development". So there really is no telling whether it is possible, working and will make it into iOS, ever.

Nobody here can tell you if it's true or not, because nobody here works for Apple (and if they do, it's unlikely they'll divulge this information let alone be able to prove its authenticity). That's literally the best answer you're going to get beyond wild speculation and baseless rumour.Wait until June for WWDC when iOS 8 is announced and find out for yourself.

Interesting. Not quite sure it constitutes as "copying" though, you could argue that Microsoft "copied" Samsung (they didn't, Windows 8's multitasking actually works lol).As an iPad user it would definitely be useful to be able to run two apps side-on in landscape mode, though the challenge (as ever) for Apple will be finding a way to implement it that is intuitive and reliable.WWDC takes place on June 2, so I guess we'll know in around three weeks!
