The Tranya T10 true wireless in-ear headphones feature 12 mm graphene drivers and a tuned sound that focuses on a deep bass. You will also appreciate them for their great battery life and intuitive controls. While these earphones sound great for in-ears, the sound can never replicate full-sized headphones. Finally, note that you'll be paying for premium features that you might not need, like IPX7 or wireless charging.

Tranya T10 True Wireless Earbuds

The Tranya T10 aren't short on premium features. From great battery life to wireless charging and IPX7 waterproof rating, they offer almost every spec you could hope for in a pair of true wireless earphones in this price class. The real selling point, however, are the 12 mm graphene drivers and the expertly tuned sound. But can the T10 live up to our high expectations? Let's have a look.

First Impressions

What's In the Box

The Tranya T10 come packed in a square white box, which contains:

  • An envelope with a compact user manual and a sticker.
  • The charging case, holding the earbuds, pre-equipped with the medium-sized ear tips.
  • One large and one small pair of silicone ear tips.
  • A short (9.5 inches / 24 cm) USB-C charging cable.

The Tranya T10 Case

The case is clam shell-shaped. Its lid opens at a 90° angle and magnetically snaps onto the body. The USB-C charging port sits on the back of the case. The front features four LEDs that indicate the case's battery status.

What you can't see is that the case also supports Qi wireless charging. That's convenient if you already own a Qi-certified wireless charger. Otherwise, just use the included USB-C cable.

The Earbuds

Magnets hold the T10 in place when they sit in their case. The earphones replicate the case's dark color scheme and prominently display the Tranya logo. Their shape resembles a bulky golf club hosel and head; a tried and tested design. The size reflects the battery size of true wireless (TWS) in-ear headphones.

None of this is remarkable, and neither the design of these in-ears, nor the case make the Tranya T10 stand out. But fortunately, we're yet to explore what really matters.

Side note: Technically, the Tranya T10 aren't earbuds, but in-ear monitors (IEMs), also known as earphones or canal-phones. Unlike in-ears, earbuds don't sit inside the ear canal, but rather press up against it. Earbuds typically leak more noise and hence don't sound as good as in-ears. That said, many sources, including brands like Bose or Sennheiser, use the terms earbuds and earphones interchangeably.

Operating the Tranya T10 In-Ear Headphones

The first time you take the Tranya T10 out of the charging case, they will go straight into pairing mode. Once paired, they will automatically try to connect when you remove them from their shell.

Tranya went with a single touch button for each earphone, which is much more pleasant to operate than push buttons. Check the included T10 user manual for details on how the touch buttons work. Two things are worth noting: First, since you either have to tap and hold for one second or multi-tab, it's hard to accidentally trigger an action. Second, as you operate the T10, listen for the bing sound, which confirms that your input was received.

The T10's connectivity is powered by four standard Bluetooth profiles: A2DP (advanced audio distribution profile), HFP (hands-free profiile), HSP (handset profile), and AVRCP (audio/video remote control profile). In short, this means the T10 can handle two-way wireless conversations, you can accept and reject calls, stream audio in stereo, and control your audio playback from your earphones.

Like any pair of headphones that's serious about audio streaming, the Tranya T10 support aptX and AAC high-quality Bluetooth codecs, which will give you CD-like sound quality on Android and iPhone, respectively.

The Tranya T10 are rated IPX7, waterproof. However, that doesn't mean you can submerge them very far or for very long. They should survive a quick dip into up to 3 feet (almost 1m) of water, but don't try diving with them.

Sound Quality

While you shouldn't use in-ears as your main means for listening to music, when they are your only option, the Tranya T10 will tide you over with 12 mm graphene drivers. Average earphones feature 8 or 9 mm drivers, though you can find earphones with up to 15 mm. Proper on- or over-ear headphones go up to 70 mm. Driver size matters because larger drivers boost bass and volume.

Moreover, the team that designed the T10 put extra effort into tuning the sound:

"For the T10 earbuds, our goal is to deliver the deep bass and elevated mids with incredible clarity, and we teamed up with sound experts to carry out multiple experiments and tests in the Dolby lab." ---Tina from Tranya's communications team

The tests resulted in expertly tuned headphones. Thanks to equalization (EQ), the Tranya T10 gained a boosted bass, while maintaining a balanced sound profile in the mids and highs. For their form factor, the Tranya T10 really produce a strong bass, as well as quality sound in the mids. We did find the sound slightly tinny, especially in the highs, but compared to no name earphones, the T10 sounded miles better.

To test your headphones' sound quality at home, try AudioCheck's headphone and earphone test. Our test indicated that the T10 have a frequency response between 20 Hz and 20 kHz, though our own hearing dropped out at around 17 kHz.

Tip: If you really want an excellent sound experience in true wireless earphones, get a pair that contains dual drivers. They are built to generate a richer and more satisfying sound across the entire spectrum.

One other sound-related feature that makes the Tranya T10 stand out is Qualcomm's cVc 8.0 Noise Cancellation Technology. This is not to be mistaken for ANC, i.e. active noise-cancelling. Clear Voice-Capture (cVc) is software-based noise cancellation built into microphones.

The cVc technology will mainly benefit your conversation partner/s in a voice call. It reduces ambient noise in your environment by up to 30 dB and thus will make your voice sound a bit clearer. Note that 30 dB is pretty quiet; it's the "noise"-level of a whisper, so don't expect wonders. In our tests, we didn't receive any complaints for poor voice quality, but the improvement also wasn't noteworthy to anyone.

Battery Life

We have yet to see TWS earbuds that can beat the 39 hours battery life of the Creative Outlier Gold. The battery life of the Tranya T10 is on the high end of the spectrum for true wireless earphones, but "only" clocks in at 32 hours total, which is pretty close. However, the Outlier Gold pack 14 hours per charge into their earphones. The T10 only achieve 8 hours, so most of the battery life comes from the charging case.

To their credit, both the T10 earphones and their case are significantly smaller and lighter than the Outlier Gold. And during regular everyday use, we had trouble exhausting the single charge before returning the earphones to their case.

Our Tranya T10 True Wireless Earbuds Verdict

The Tranya T10 have great battery life and several nice-to-have features, like wireless charging and Clear Voice-Capture technology for audio calls. You can even take them for a swim. We had high expectations for the sound, and while we wouldn't recommend these earphones for audiophiles, the T10's bass and volume did impress.

We do think the sound could be fuller, and we'd love to see this package with a dual driver design. Of course, that would come at a price, and the Tranya T10 are already a bit more beefed up and hence pricier than comparable true wireless earphones. Yet, they could easily become your favorite in-ear headphones.
