How can I transfer installed programs from Windows 7 Ultimate N to Windows 7 Ultimate? Both are on the same hard drive and are set to dual boot.
If I restore a system image created in Ultimate N into the Ultimate, will it install all my programs and settings in the latter?

. Your best bet is to do a traditional file by file backup to external media of any important data files and then install on Windows 7 ultimate.Laplink PCmoverhttps://www.anrdoezrs.net/links/7251228/type/dlg/sid/UUmuoUeUpU84768/http://www.laplink.com/pcmoverParagon System Upgrade Utilities http://www.paragon-software.com/home/suu/Steam Mover http://www.traynier.com/software/steammoverApplication Mover http://www.funduc.com/app_mover.htm

Restoring the system image will indeed restore all applications to the state they were at when the image was created, it will also uninstall any apps you installed after that image. The only way you can transfer documents and applications while upgrading Windows is if you installed Windows on a separate partition than your file system. You can read how to do that at Life Hacker - http://lifehacker.com/5271338/separate-your-data-from-windows-on-a-standalone-partitionAs you can see, there are several benefits to installing Windows on a separate partition than on your storage file system. However, with that being said, if you do an in place Windows 7 upgrade you will not lose any documents or applications. Doing a custum upgrade, most likely will result in your documents and applications being moved to C:Windows.Old Read more about that here: http://answers.microsoft.com/en-us/windows/forum/windows_7-windows_install/will-upgrading-from-vista-to-windows-7-delete-my/d8c21367-ec6d-410a-af4c-c1cb98f2ea14
