My ISP prevents using Bit Torrent and U Torrent. Is there a way around this?

If you couldn't switch ISP like Steve suggested and you don't want to experiment with settings, you could try to use one of the "torrent downloading" service (just search for one) which will download the torrent for you, save it to their server, and provide you with the html download link. There were plenty of the free alternatives, but now I think all of them are paid service.I remember that there are also options (something like scripts) to build our own torrent download server, but I forgot what it is and I haven't been able to find any info about it (still searching though). Anybody else could enlight us regarding this matter?

ISPs have got smarter, so these tips may or may not work. PC World has a detailed workaround (it's a bit dated though) - Elude Your ISP's BitTorrent Blockade.

Denny,Although I cannot guarantee success, there are a couple things you could try. I found this article on encrypting bittorrent traffic I think you should read: http://torrentfreak.com/how-to-encrypt-bittorre... Also, check out our Big Book of BitTorrent and see if anything is of use to you: http://www.makeuseof.com/pages/free-torrent-guide The simplest answer, however, is to simply switch ISPs. You may not have many options in your area, but it's worth investigating.
