E-bikes are all the rage, especially if you're a city dweller wanting to reduce your carbon footprint. Many people consider an e-bike as their main form of transport but are still on the fence due to the range. If you're looking for an e-bike that will go the distance, check out this roundup of e-bikes with the longest range.

1. DŌST Kope E-Bike

The DŌST Kope E-Bike is an absolute monster of a bike, especially if you get the optional dual battery setup. This bike isn't cheap, but you definitely get a lot for what you pay. This e-bike comes standard with a 48V, 14 Ah Samsung battery integrated into the frame. However, the real magic happens when you order the optional battery, which is a 48V, 10.4 Ah unit. DŌST says the combined batteries should be good for approximately 25 Ah, which is absolutely incredible.

Combining these two batteries into one monstrous e-bike delivers a lot of range. According to the manufacturer's estimates, the e-bike should be good for 120 miles of range with the dual battery setup. This is next level for electric bikes, and you definitely can't complain about range anxiety with this unit. The Kope is also equipped with a 750W mid-drive motor which pumps out 120nM of torque.

This guarantees that you won't have any issues tackling diverse terrain. The Kope e-bike rings in at $3,898 with the optional second battery. It's a lot of money for an e-bike, but if you want tons of range, this is an excellent choice. TOh, and the Kope looks great, especially in the Glacier White color scheme.

2. Delfast Top 3.0i Electric Bike

The Delfast Top 3.0i basically looks like an electric motorcycle, but it's billed as an e-bike, so we'll go with that. It reminds us of the Model S Plaid and that all the stats surrounding it are ridiculous. This bonkers e-bike boasts a range of 200 miles, according to Delfast. Right off the bat, this is the kind of ludicrous stat that sets it apart from most other e-bikes on the market.

Delfast actually holds a Guinness World Record for its Prime model e-bike. The bike took home the honor for the greatest distance traveled on a single charge using an electric bike. This is a very significant achievement that will continue to trickle down to Delfast's other products. This amazing e-bike can also travel up to 50 mph. The torque figure for this e-bike is also amazing at 182 Nm. This kind of innovation is good to see in any segment, and companies like this push the innovation envelope. The Delfast Top 3.0i e-bike is not cheap, but it's well worth the money for the amount of performance available.

This e-bike also looks out of this world. There aren't any other e-bikes that look quite as menacing as the Top 3.0i. This e-bike's aggressive looks wouldn't look out of place in a futuristic movie, and the fact that it combines this awesome aesthetic with one of the longest ranges present on any e-bike is a huge testament to Delfast. The Delfast is also one of the heaviest e-bikes you'll ever encounter, coming in at an absolutely monstrous 154lbs (70kg). It's amazing that the bike can travel as far as it can, especially considering its heft.

The Delfast Top 3.0i will set you back $6,999 (plus the delivery fee). Again, not the most affordable bike by a long shot, but it still outperforms many much more expensive e-bikes.

3. Optibike R22 Everest

When it comes to range, the R22 Everest is even crazier than the already out-of-this-world Delfast Top 3.0i. This bike outshines the Delfast model with a range of up to 300 miles (this applies for a 160 lb rider while traveling 15 mph with pedal assist). To put this into perspective, there are full-on electric cars that get less range than this e-bike. This is crazy when you consider the size of an EV's battery, regardless of the added weight of the vehicle. Think about that for a second. Three hundred miles of range from a bike is just bonkers. Using this bike for the daily commute as a replacement for your vehicle is possible, especially because this beast can also travel up to 36 mph.

The R22 Everest also features an extremely powerful electric motor that puts out 190 Nm of torque, which means you'll make easy work of any challenging terrain you might encounter. This Optibike model's battery takes center stage, as well it should. It's a gigantic dual unit with a capacity of 3,260Wh. This is definitely not a dainty e-bike, but it's still not super heavy because of the carbon fiber frame, which allows the bike to shed some weight. The difficult part to swallow is the price. If you thought the battery was big, wait until you check out the price.

The R22 Everest comes in at an eye-watering $18,900. There's not much to say about the price, other than it's just as enormous as everything else on this bike. The R22 is clearly a great bike, but paying more than twice the price of the Delfast for this bike is a tough decision, especially considering that the Delfast Top 3.0i is faster and looks better. Regardless, if Optibike is pricing their bikes at this price point, it's because people are willing to pay for them, so more power to them.

E-Bikes With Extended Range Are a True Alternative to Cars

If you live in a city that has a bike-friendly infrastructure, getting an e-bike is a no-brainer. Enjoying the peace of mind that a bike-friendly city's infrastructure provides while also saving significant sums of money by riding your e-bike instead of a car is an amazing scenario that more and more people will begin to enjoy. E-bikes might very well be the future of mobility, even displacing EVs at some point—if the infrastructure can keep up.
