This edition of Sound Sunday is dedicated to the wonderful genres R&B, Soul, and Hip Hop. Discover the life & work of Toronto singer/songwriter Rochelle Jordan, who has worked with Drake, LA-based singer Jason Chen, who recorded a mixtape with his favorite Chinese music, Grammy-nominated singer and actor Omarion, whose debut album went Platinum, and many more musicians, who belong to the most talented and skilled of our time. My personal favorite this week is the song Blessed by Cantaloop. The song sounds strangely familiar, yet awaits with refreshing arrangements. Love the trumpet solo and the slightly melancholic touch.

Ian Grey – The Reevolution

Fans of Ian Grey describe his music as a mix between John Legend and Frank Ocean. Ian himself describes his music, a combination of instrumentals and vocals with an emphasize on story telling, as cinematic. And while he prefers not to be categorized into R&B, it still is a fitting genre.

From the album page: This is a collection of songs that were written before, during and after the making of Along Came The Devil One Night… and just never fitted any release. Some are tracks where the files were lost and couldn’t be retrieved and so I gave up on them. Either way, they are tracks I loved and wanted to share even if they didn’t make it onto a full release.
