It is not only web app developers that test their apps on different resolutions – desktop app developers make the same tests and check how apps will look like on various desktops. Here to help them with this task is a small portable utility called WindowSize.
WindowSize is a freeware application for Windows computers. The app does not require any installation and it comes packed in a ZIP archive sized at 20 KB. You simply unpack the archive and run the extracted executable. The program’s window lets you choose one of the predefined screen resolutions that are most commonly used; alternatively you can choose your own custom resolution.
Next you select any border size you want to add or any taskbars that you want to subtract. Finally you click on a button in the app and then on the window of the application you want to resize. The app window is resized immediately. The previous size of the window can be restored through this use of another button in WindowSize.
- A user-friendly desktop app.
- Compatible with Windows computers.
- Lets you quickly resize application windows to any resolution you want.
- Can restore window after it is resized.
