Today, we’re talking a look at an infographic that features the 20 most expensive buildings in the world. Most of the really expensive ones cost in the $15 billion range, but the number one took a staggering amount of money to create.

    The Royal Adelaide Hospital (South Australia) will make an entry into this list once completed, at approx. AU$2.1 Billion (US$1.58 Billion).

    I would have liked to see a distinction between those built with mostly private money and those built with mostly taxpayer money - or simply a report on how much from which resource.

    The Shorham Nuclear Plant in New York was built in the 1960's at a cost of $6 Billion. It was never put into operation because of the anti nuclear crowd led by the Governor of the State. In the next few years the nuclear plant, capable of producing 2500+ megawatts will be replaced by a solar farm capable of generating a whopping 77 megawatts. That is called "progress" in power generation.
