    It's true that these principles and techniques have been around for a long time, well be fore the painters, movie makers and photographers that fcd76218 refers to, but seeing them laid out in reference to more current, and well-known, works, like Star Wars, makes them much more accessible to contemporary designers.

    It's not like all these principles were invented for and by Star Wars. They have been used by painters, movie makers and photographers for centuries.
