Traveling is a giant pain in the rear. You have to book all of your flights, hotels, rental cars, dinner reservations, and so on. After you book it, you have to keep track of all the important times and information for the trip. Sure, once you get to your destination and start doing all the fun stuff, it is enjoyable, but the preparation for a trip is usually less than pleasant.
Thankfully, we live in the age of smartphones, where applications can help make everything easier. In the case of travel, Tripit is the perfect app for making traveling easier and more enjoyable.
Tripit is all about getting your travel schedule all in one place. It makes it easy to get all your flights, hotels, and other parts of your travel plans in one app, so you know when and where you need to be to get to and from your destination. It takes some of the unpleasantness out of traveling, and that will allow you to kick back, relax, and enjoy your trip.
You will need to download Tripit from the App Store. It comes in two flavors — free and premium — the first of which is ad-supported. Other than the ads, there are no differences between the two, so for the purpose of this review, we will focus on the free one. You will need to create an account in order to use the app. Making an account is as simple as entering your email address and picking a password. Once you make an account, you will be ready to start planning your trips.
You can use this app in two different ways. First, you can manually enter all of your travel plans, which takes a little longer, but if you prefer not to let the app have access to your Gmail accounts, this is the way you will want to go. To start with, you will need to create a new trip. You enter the destination, start date, end date, and a description to get your trip logged.
After you create a trip, you will need to enter all of the different parts of it. You do this by clicking on the trip, and then clicking the “Add Plans” button. You can enter everything from hotels, car rentals, meetings, activities and more. This allows you to have all the important things you will be doing in one place.
You can enter a lot of data for each activity. It does not require all of the fields be filled, so you can pick and choose what information is necessary for your particular plan. If, by some oddity, the thing you need to enter for your plan is not there, you can simply use the note section to add it.
The app can also scan your email and pull in anything with a confirmation number. Obviously, this is a lot easier than manually entering each thing you will need to do on the trip. You can do this in one of two ways. The first option is to forward your travel plans to firstname.lastname@example.org. You can also go to the settings in the app and turn on automatic importing. This will require you to give the app access to your Gmail account, so it’s up to you if you want to give it that kind of information.
Regardless of which method you use, you can have multiple trips stored in the app at once. If you are someone who travels frequently, this app can help you keep everything organized. Even if you are only going on one trip, having all the important information in one place is certainly useful.
If you want to take some of the pain out of keeping your travel plans organized, this is the perfect app for you. It makes it simple to keep everything in one easy to access itinerary. Whether you have multiple trips to plan for, or just one, this app is the perfect way to keep yourself sane as you get ready to hit the road, sky, sea, or tracks.
