How to Show or Hide App Badges in the Windows 10 Taskbar
The Anniversary Update for Windows 10 brought a lot of interesting new tricks and features to try , including badges for apps in the Taskbar. A badge is the small number that will tell you things like how many new messages you have, etc.
It would be nice if you could toggle them on/off on a per-app basis, but that’s currently not possible. You can only turn them on/off completely.
To do so, open the Start Menu and search for the Settings app and launch it. Navigate to Personalization > Taskbar and scroll down until you see Show badges on taskbar buttons — enable it or disable it, however you want.
Note that badges only work for apps that are Universal Windows Apps . While you’re at it, why don’t you check out these other features of Windows 10 that we think you’ll like ?
