Some people choose to freelance. Others are forced to. Depending on how you look at it, the life of a freelancer can either be really great, balanced and rewarding; or unstable, challenging and unproductive.

    The thing is, freelancing requires a self-motivated spirit. Everything about it is active: seeking clients, setting your own hours, being your own boss, clarifying client demands, etc. It's no coincidence that 71.7% of freelancers identify as entrepreneurs. There are a lot of freelance markets, but few have what it takes to get more than a few years out of it.
