The Sheeple, also known as Apple fans, really like their AirPods. So much so that a recent survey found that 98 percent of owners are satisfied with Apple's wireless headphones. They may look ridiculous, and be expensive to replace, but the vast majority of owners love them regardless.

Another 98/100 Satisfied Customers

According to a Creative Strategies survey of 942 Apple fans, 98 percent of Apple AirPods owners are either Satisfied or Very Satisfied with their purchase. This is a record for a new Apple product, beating the 97 percent satisfaction rating enjoyed by the Apple Watch when it launched in 2015.

What's more, the AirPods' Net Promoter Score (NPS) -- which rates how likely people are to recommend a product to others -- is a whopping 75. For the sake of comparison, the iPhone has an NPS of 72. Scoring over 50 is excellent, while anything above 70 is considered world class.

The Dictionary Definition of Sheeple

By the way, if anyone reading this is smarting at being called a Sheeple in the headline, don't blame me, blame Merriam-Webster. The centuries-old dictionary now recognizes "Sheeple", which it defines as "people who are docile, compliant, or easily influenced : people likened to sheep".

It cites as one of its sources CNN's Doug Criss, who wrote in a December 2015 edition of his Five Things for Your New Day column, "Apple's debuted a battery case for the juice-sucking iPhone—an ungainly lumpy case the sheeple will happily shell out $99 for". He was right too.

Apple's License to Print Money

This is a reminder that Apple has a legion of fans who trust the company to deliver the goods. And they'll look past the naysayers and actually buy a product themselves before making their minds up. They may be sheeple, but their loyalty is rewarded with great products... 98 percent of the time.
