How do you make Google your homepage? Here's how to do it on the four major web browsers.

How to Set Your Homepage on Google Chrome

Follow these instructions if Google Chrome is your browser of choice:

  1. Open Chrome.
  2. Click on the Menu icon in the upper right-hand corner (three vertical dots).
  3. Select Settings.
  4. Scroll down to On Startup.
  5. Mark the checkbox next to Open a specific page or set of pages.
  6. Enter www.google.com into the on-screen box.

Make sure you also enable the Show home button toggle, which gives you an on-screen way to make Google Search only a single click away.

How to Set Your Homepage on Microsoft Edge

Microsoft Edge is automatically installed on a Windows system. It's been gaining an increasing amount of popularity in recent years, thanks to its tight integration with the rest of the Windows operating system.

  1. Open Edge.
  2. Click on the More icon in the upper right-hand corner (three horizontal dots).
  3. Select Settings.
  4. In the left-hand panel, click On Start-up.
  5. Mark the checkbox alongside Open a specific page or pages.
  6. Enter www.google.com in the on-screen box.

How to Set Your Homepage on Mozilla Firefox

Firefox remains one of the fastest web browsers available and is the de facto best-in-class for anyone who wants a browser that's not made by one of the tech giants.

  1. Open Firefox.
  2. Click on the Menu button (three horizontal lines).
  3. Select Settings.
  4. In the panel on the left-hand side of the screen, choose Home.
  5. Scroll down to New Windows and Tabs.
  6. In the dropdown box next to Homepage and new windows, enter Google's URL.

How to Set Your Homepage on Safari

Safari is Apple's own browser. It is not available on the Windows operating system.

  1. Open Safari.
  2. Go to Safari > Preferences.
  3. In the new window, select the General tab.
  4. Scroll down to the Homepage field.
  5. Enter www.google.com.
  6. Select Change Homepage when prompted.

Make sure you set Homepage in the New windows open with section.
