How to Search Google Drive on Android Like a Power User

Nancy Messieh 09-03-2017

If there’s one thing that Google does really well, it’s search — so it’s no surprise that Android users can easily search through all their apps from one place, whether on smartphone or tablet, and now Google Drive has been added do that list.

To search all apps on your phone, including Google Drive, open up the Google app and enter your search term in the search bar. If you want, you can also conduct the search using Google’s voice command feature.

On your results page, in the menu where you can refine your search results by type (All, News, Books, Videos, Images etc), swipe to the right until you reach the last option: In Apps. Tap the In Apps link, and you will see a list of results organized by app. Search results will now include files you have saved in Google Drive.

While Google Drive is new to the list, other Google apps you could search previously include Gmail, YouTube, and Google+. Other apps that also offer up in-app search results include Facebook, Twitter, Pinterest, and Instagram.
