Accidental deletions suck, and it can happen on Spotify just as it can happen anywhere else. Of course losing a playlist isn’t as bad as losing a bunch of data files or accidentally formatting your data drive, but it’s still regrettable.
It’s even worse when you delete that playlist in an emotional outburst, then wish you didn’t hours later.
Fortunately, Spotify lets you recover your deleted playlists with very little effort — yet most users don’t know this option exists.
To do this, you must use the Spotify website. As of this writing, there doesn’t seem to be a way to recover playlists in the desktop or mobile apps.
- Log into your account.
- Navigate to your account dashboard.
- Click Recover playlists in the sidebar.
- Click Restore for the playlist you want back.
And it’s as simple as that. Playlists are recoverable whether you’re just a free user or enjoying the benefits of Premium. As for how long deleted playlists are stored or how many deleted playlists are tracked, there doesn’t appear to be a limit on either.
